Sarah Jessica Parker does not attend the gala after “devastating family situation”
Sarah Jessica Parker, who was honored at the 10th Annual New York City Ballet Fall Fashion Gala Wednesday night, had to run out of the event at the last minute after what was described as a family emergency.
A source who attended the gala tells Page Six that moments after the actress arrived at the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center, she left again.
We are told that at a strangely dramatic moment they announced from the stage that he must retire from the party due to a “sudden, catastrophic family situation.”
Parker representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Sex and the City actress, 57, is vice president of the NYCB Board of Directors. She was also the brain behind the Fall Fashion Gala, which was first celebrated in 2012.
Since then, Gala has raised over $ 24 million for the Ballet.
The last-minute news of her cancellation comes just one day after she and her husband Matthew Broderick attended the “Hocus Pocus 2” premiere.
The fashion icon combined a floral tunic with pink pants. Her husband, 60, wore a brown suit.
Their 13-year-old twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha, also rarely appeared on the red carpet when accompanying their parents.
Parker and Broderick welcomed their daughters through a foster in 2009 – seven years after their son, James, who is now 19, was born.
The couple’s three children are often kept away from the spotlights in an attempt to keep them private.
Broderick and Parker first met in 1991 during their theatrical days before tied the knot two years later.
