Sarah Paulson has been cast as Gwen Shamblin in the new HBO Max series

Sarah Paulson will be rocking a new ‘do soon.

The American Horror Story the actress was cast in the role of a controversial religious leader Gwen Shamblin in the scripted version of his HBO Max documentary series The Way Down: God, Greed, and the Cult by Gwen Shamblin, E! News learned. Paulson will also executive produce the series.

In addition to being known for her signature huge hairdo, Gwen is also known as the founder of the Christian diet program Weigh Down Workshop and Remnant Fellowship Church. The documents accused her of abuse and exploitation through her program and the church’s alleged cult practices.
