Sarah Paulson revealed the secret of a successful relationship with Holland Taylor.

“We don’t live together, it’s such a secret” – the star of “American Horror Story”. explained on Monday’s episode of the “Smartless” podcast.

“Holland and I spend a lot of time together, but we don’t live in the same house,” she added. “We’ve been together for a long time, and I think part of it has to do with the fact that we’re together when we want to be, and we’re not together when we don’t want to be.”

Paulson, 49, was asked if she and the 81-year-old “Legally Blonde” star had considered having separate bedrooms instead of two different homes, to which she replied: “No, because we like to fall asleep holding hands.”

“We sleep holding hands – I like sleeping next to her.”

“I don’t want to be around her the rest of the time,” the actress joked, before admitting she was “joking.”

Apart from the fact that they live separately, another secret of the couple’s almost nine-year romance comes to light.

“I think we’re all on our own path, so we’re not exactly the same,” Taylor told Page Six in November 2023. “We do things separately so everyone can stay true to what they believe in.”

Paulson and Taylor went public with their romance in December 2015, after the “Two and a Half Men” alum confessed her love for a mystery woman during an appearance on WNYC’s “Death, Sex & Money.”

At the time, the couple’s nearly 32-year age difference sent critics into a frenzy, but Paulson later shut down the haters.

“If anyone wants to think for a moment that I’m weird for loving the most spectacular person in the world, that’s their problem,” Paulson told Modern Luxury in May 2918. “I’m doing good”.

The “Glass” star, who first met Taylor in 2005, previously admitted that she was hesitant to reveal their relationship after being warned that the age difference between the other actress would have a negative impact on her career.

“It occurred to me, ‘Shouldn’t I be doing this?’ And then I thought, “Why wouldn’t I do it?” Paulson said during an interview with Edit in 2017.

“The fact that I think about it is wrong. But I had a moment of social anxiety; I wondered if maybe people who didn’t know this about me would think, “Wait, what?” But you know, I did it anyway.
