Seth Meyers tells jokes to help the environment
Seth Meyers, Saturday Night Live stars Chloe Fineman and Michael Che, Mike Birbiglia, Hasan Minhaj and Nick Kroll took the stage at Casa Cipriani on Tuesday night for the National Resource Defense Council’s Comedy Night party.
“I don’t even know what the current variant is,” Meyers told audiences including Chelsea Clinton, big media media David Zaslav, Anjelica Huston and Candice Bergen. “I feel it’s really positive,” he continued. He also joked when he saw people without masks: “If the eyes are the windows to the soul, the nose is a hole in the face.”
Minhaj said from the charity program stage: “We are all here because we love the environment … and the tax loopholes.”
“SNL” star Fineman entertained audiences with celebrity impressions including Drew Barrymore, Frances McDormand, Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep – they all had orgasms.
Impressing Winona Ryder, Fineman released a series of screeches and joked about the arrest of the Stranger Things star in 2001: “And then she stole her purse.”
Che apologized for his casual look – jeans and a sweatshirt – saying, “The invitation included a cocktail outfit, and that’s what I like to wear when I’m pissed.” He added as another excuse: “I despair, the queen is dead.”
Kroll – who stars in Olivia Wilde’s movie talked a lot about the new movie “Don’t Worry Baby” – made a fun set that covered topics from parents to weed.
The evening honored Anna Scott Carter, wife of Graydon’s former Vanity Fair boss, who is an honorary trustee of a nonprofit and founded a fundraising event.
The mission of the organization is to protect the earth and its natural systems. He has worked on issues such as helping with the water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
