Sharna Burgess does not return to DWTS for Season 31
Sharna Burgess will not compete as a pro in the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars”.
The professional dancer who gave birth to Zane’s son on June 28 took a look at her Instagram Story on Wednesday to determine if she would be back for season 31.
“Hi, I have some news that I need to tell you because I still get so much DM about it,” Burgess, 37, began. “I, after long conversations and a lot of reflection and really trying to sit with what is right … made a really tough decision to no make the season of “Dancing With the Stars” this year. There is a list that says I will be a professional and I will not be.
Burgess, however, explained that it would still “be there to some extent,” telling fans, “We’re still talking about it.”
Burgess explained that although her body was “100% fit” and “fit, strong and ready to dance” just two months after giving birth, the dedication of the time kept her from returning to the dance floor.
“I wasn’t ready to spend at least 10 hours a day away from Zayn,” she explained.
“I’m a full-time breastfeeding mom. And not only that, I’m just in love with being a mom. It was difficult to refuse “Dance” … I have this family at home and this newborn, which I may never get back [with]”.
She continued, “I’ve waited so long for this, so I’m staying in this moment and I’m going to live and love it all. But that doesn’t mean I won’t be around … so you will be see me but it will be just different.
Burgess welcomed her first child with boyfriend Brian Austin Green – whom she competed with last season of DWTS – in late June. Green, 49, also has sons Noah (9), Bodhi (8) and Journey (5) with ex-wife Megan Fox, and Kassius (20) with ex-girlfriend Vanessa Marcil.
The full list of DWTS pros and their celebrities will be revealed early next month on Good Morning America ahead of Season 31, which premieres on September 19 at Disney +.
