“She was a good girl”
Shia LaBeouf revealed that his mother, Shayna Saide, died on August 27 at the age of 80.
The actress who had been with her when she left said she had heart failure and spoke of the anguish she had felt during her final days at a Los Angeles hospital.
“My mother was full of fear in the last moments: she asked the doctor what kind of tube was it and what the machine was doing. She was crazy, “the 36-year-old star of” Transformers “recalled in an e-mail interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“All her life she was deeply interested in God and spirituality, but did not know him. Hence her last moments.
LaBeouf – who is a product of interfaith marriage and was raised both Jewish and Christian – credits his mother for emphasizing a relationship with God.
“Her greatest gift to me was promoting the need for a relationship with God when she died. Not interest, not just faith, but a relationship built on evidence as tangible as a hug, ”he said. “Her final gift to me was the ultimate persuasion of faith.
The actor has embraced Catholicism ever since he starred in Abel Ferarra’s “Padre Pio,” in which he plays the title character: a Capuchin Franciscan monk who became famous in Italy after allegedly experiencing stigmas.
LaBeouf described his mother as “a good little girl,” adding, “She was loved by many and known too few. God bless you, mama.
The star of “Fury” is apparently on a redemption tour after singer and ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs accused her of sexual assault in a case where they may soon be head to head in court.
He also defended himself against director Olivia Wilde, who claimed to have fired the actor from her film “Don’t Worry, Baby.”
LaBeouf revealed a video where Wilde seemingly pleads with the actor to stay in the film and points to a dispute between LaBeouf and his colleague Florence Pugh.
When asked about the dispute, he graciously replied, “That’s what it is – every blessing to her and her film.”
