“Until five days ago, I didn’t have a dress, I had nothing,” said Ralph. “Brandon Blackwood heard about my situation from Roberto, a stylist in New York.”

Ralph, 65, said Blackwood “picked up the pace” and “was in Japan and started making a gown on a flight to the Pacific.”

Designer – who creates handbags and small accessories and only recently introduced footwear with one pair of custom-made shoes – he made his “first dress in history” for this occasion, by Instagram.
