SNL parodies Kanye West’s unsolicited visit to Skechers


Saturday Night Live parodied Kanye West’s unsolicited visit to Skechers headquarters amid the effects of his anti-Semitic comments.

“At Skechers, we pride ourselves on two things: creating stylish, comfortable shoes at an affordable price, and zero tolerance towards anti-Semitism.” Comedian Cecily Strong he said in the sketchat the same time playing the role of the brand marketing director.

“Like the rest of the country, we were horrified by Kanye’s horrific comments and swore we would never cooperate with him,” she added.

“But, can we also point out, of all the companies he could have turned to and was turned down, he chose Skechers.”

Strong’s friend Bowen Yang was also part of the skit, playing a Skechers employee in a bogus ad.

“So this week, when Kanye West showed up at our office asking to cooperate with us, we declined,” he said. “And we immediately led him out of the building.”

Yang later asked, “What would you call Kanye Skechers shoe, Skeezy?” before adding: “Two years ago, can you imagine the headline” Skechers too good for Kanye? “

The parody also targeted other big fashion companies, namely Adidas, who after his anti-Semitic tirade took several days to sever ties with 45-year-old West.

“It took Adidas so many days to decide not to work with him. He walked in, we were, buy, goodbye, door, ”Strong said.

Yang, who jokingly asked why the Crocs were silent on the matter, concluded the sketch by saying, “I’m sure Kanye will find a morally dubious company instead.”

The ad then went on to James Austin Johnson as Trump support Michael J. Lindell, who announced a fake My Pillow-West partnership.

As previously reported, a disgraced fashion designer – who is also called Ye – arrived at the footwear company’s headquarters in California on Wednesday morning to talk to executives about potential business opportunities. according to TMZ.

Skechers explained in the statement later that day, West was immediately rejected.
