The eleventh episode of Under the Queen’s Umbrella is titled “The Final Test”. She starts with the final exam just before she starts. Uiseong, Bogeom and Sangseong are the only ones standing; At this point, they are still determining who will end up as crown prince.

Storyline of Under the Queen’s Umbrella

The King provides an update to each member of the triumvirate. He invites them to consider a question they would like to ask of the potential candidates for the office of crown prince if they were the king and wanted to select the most qualified individuals. Uiseong is persuaded to include this topic in the test when Seongnam addresses Uiseong and describes how people complain about the king being nothing more than a puppet.

Now that she is aware that Seongnam is in the lead for the exam based on this material, the widow enlists the help of Ijojoeongrang, the department head at the Ministry of Human Resources, to turn things around in her favor and gain an advantage. When giving a gift, the intent is pretty obvious. Ultimately, having her opponents split between Uiseong and Bogeom will give Seongnam a more significant chance to advance.

Uiseong initially has a clear lead in the vote count, but as word spreads of his terrible treatment of servants, he begins to fall further and further behind. As they desperately try to figure out what steps to take next, one of the scholars briefs Hwang on the situation. She has come to the conclusion that the only person who can solve this problem is the Queen Dowager. As a result, the State Council and Hwang have returned, prostrating in front of the widow and begging her to help them and Prince Uiseong.

This puts the widow in a powerful position as she can effectively choose between the two princes and the guarantee that Hwang will not become queen if the widow chooses her son gives her even more power.

The widow appears to have made her decision and strikes up a conversation with Consort Tae and Bogeom, in which she suggests retiring from the competition. However, this is her last chance to protect her honor and dignity. However, since he had dropped out of school by that time, he should apply for the position of a trusted advisor to the king. A position that is not only lucrative but also prestigious. It’s acceptable to express frustration when things are difficult. Hwa-Ryeong talks to the boy while holding his hands and trying to get him to open up. Because of everything that happened, Consort Tae has started smiling again, which brings Bogeom and Tae closer together than before.

The State Council suddenly reveals that there is a rumor about Grand Prince Seongnam just before the decision is made based on the evaluation results. He does not appear to have been raised in the palace and does not appear to be of royal lineage. If so, Seongnam cannot take his rightful place as Crown Prince, and the only way to find out the truth is to have his blood tested.

This is another scam and is delaying the outcome to give officials enough time to implement their plan. It was discovered that Hwang and the State Council secretly added snake blood to the sample, thereby contaminating the water used to test the blood. As a consequence, Hwa-Ryeong has Consort Hwang and the State Councilor each test the same water, and the results show the same thing: that they failed the competition.
