Tamar Braxton doesn’t have time for “Real Housewives” antics.
The 47-year-old singer said she turned down the opportunity to join “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” because “there’s just no way I’m going to sit down, put on a wig and beat my face to argue with a bunch of bitches about nothing.”
“I can not do that. What will this do for me in life? What is the argument?” she said during Carlos King’s live recording Podcast “Reality with the King”. The episode was later added to his YouTube page on Friday.
“Let me tell you something, not all money is good money. Just no,” she continued.
The “Family Values Braxton” star added: “What is for me will not pass me by. I can’t sit here and get into an argument with another beautiful black woman about nothing and have “other people” think that’s what we’re about. At some point you have to take responsibility for what you put on your TV screen.
Instead, he’s more focused on creating television that’s “good, funny, engaging and epic.”
Despite her reluctance to join the series, Braxton said she is still a fan of the show.
The Bravo series has recently undergone some changes with the addition of several new cast members.
In February, Bravo announced that Porsha Williams would return to the series for season 16 also revealed by the network Brittany Eady, Kelli Ferrell, Angela Oakley and longtime Housewives friend Shamea Morton Mwangi will also become full-time Housewives this season.
They join returning Peach holders Kenya Moore and Drew Sidora.
Cynthia Bailey will also appear as a friend of the housewives this season.
The show recently said goodbye to OG housewives Kandi Burruss, Sheree Whitfield, who returned to the show for Season 15, as well as Sanya Richards Ross and Marlo Hampton after their Season 15 reunion.
According to the podcast host and Braxton, the way to save “RHOA” isn’t by adding new faces.
King stated that the show needs to focus on bringing back more OG housewives like Nene Leakes, who left the show in September 2020.
King also speculated on why Zolciak didn’t return to the show as a full-time housewife, saying that she “doesn’t have as much contact with the girls as she used to.”
“We all know that the best seasons of Housewives Atlanta are Season 6 and Season 9,” he told the room.
