Taylor Swift announces the new album “Midnights” after VMA 2022
Are you ready for it?
Taylor Swift announced at the Sunday MTV VMA festival in 2022 that her new album will be released in October.
“I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you my new album will be out on October 21,” said the 32-year-old singer during receiving the Video of the Year award.
She then teased, “I’ll tell you more at midnight,” then announced the appropriate title for her upcoming project: “Midnight.”
“We do not sleep in love and fear, confusion and tears. We stare at the walls and drink until they respond, ”she wrote next to the album cover image.
“We twist in our self-made cages and pray that we – right now – don’t make some fatal life-changing mistake.”
Swift explained that her new album is a collection “written in the middle of the night, a journey through fears and sweet dreams. The floors we walk on and the demons we face.
Prior to making the stunning announcement, Swift posted official countdown on her website, which read “Let’s meet at midnight” under the ticking clock.
The site finally crashed at 12:00 ET.
However, many fans felt that the singer “Look What You Made Me Do” had been suggesting throughout the concert that she would re-release her 2017 album “Reputation”.
Receiving the award for Best Long Format Film at Sunday’s awards ceremony, Swift told fans that the win was “an indication that we did something right” – and their Swifties know them well.
One Twitter user noted the resemblance to the lyrics from Swift’s song “Reputation” “Call It What You Want,” in which he repeats, “I did one thing right.”
“WE HAVE DONE SOMETHING CORRECT ????? PLAYS EVERYWHERE EVERYWHERE EGGS ” the viewer wrote along with a clip of a superstar’s speech.
Supporters also thought that Swift gave them another clue when she showed off her shiny band – which was similar to the look of the “Look What You Made Me Do” music video – on TikTok, using Blackpink’s song “Pink Venom” which may be a nod to the images of snakes which she used in the “Reputation” era.
Swift made the decision to re-record her first five albums after nemesis manager Scooter Braun bought mastery for her music from her former label, Big Machine Records.
“I’m very excited about it because I think artists deserve to have their work,” singer “Wildest Dreams” told Good Morning America in 2019. “I just feel very passionate about it.”
Since then, Swift has re-released the pre-recorded versions of “Fearless”, originally released in 2008, and “Red”, originally released in 2012.
