‘The Bachelor’ star Ryan Sutter shares a photo of his wife Trista after reuniting with his family
Ryan Sutter is grateful to be reunited with his wife Trista.
On Sunday, the former reality star posted an adorable black-and-white photo of the two of them with their children, Maxwell, 16, and Blakesley, 15, vacationing in Mexico.
“They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder…. We found out that it’s true,” he wrote under the photo. “It also makes your heart more grateful, more compassionate, and more appreciative of what someone does for you, with you, and alongside you.”
“It brings questions, wonder and worry, and then answers, peace and celebration. It brought time for reflection, projects, prayer and independence, but above all, it brought joy at its end. True joy. And that’s what it’s all about…”
Sutter concluded the lengthy message by welcoming his wife back and including the hashtags “#love #love #reunitedanditfeelssogood.”
The couple became the subject of online speculation after a series of cryptic messages written by Ryan and Trista.
Gossip it started bubbling earlier this month when Ryan, 49, shared a message on Instagram in which he suggested that Trista was not with her family for the Mother’s Day celebration.
“I know you would like to be here for Mother’s Day,” he wrote. “We would like you to be there too. But sometimes being a mom means letting go of your hands, asserting their independence and encouraging their adventurous spirit.”
Last week, firefighters made such an attempt clarify any misunderstandings writing that he sent “a message to my wife for when she can finally read it.”
“She understood the context and so did I. But no one else did, and that’s where things went differently. It’s been suggested that Trista died, that we’re in trouble, or that it must be a mid-life crisis, among many other creative ideas.
Ryan confessed that it felt “weird” to be on the news again and that it “reminded me how crazy life is and how grateful I am for the life I have.”
On Saturday, Trista, 51, later defended her husband’s veiled notes with a seemingly vague message of her own.
“Oh my gosh, people. Can’t a girl experience a nervous breakdown/legal separation/midlife crisis/death/divorce in peace here?! 😜🤣,” she began jokingly next to a photo of herself and her family.
The former reality star then explained that she took the “opportunity to gain perspective and grow personally,” and Ryan decided to “share his love for me in messages that would find me in my travels.”
The mother of two said his words “gave me exactly what my affirmation-based love language needed to overcome some serious self-doubt and fear… and that’s all that matters.”
Trista added that her husband “doesn’t owe anyone any explanations,” before promising to share the rest of the story “in due course.”
Trista and Ryan are the longest-running couple on “The Bachelor.” They married in 2003 after meeting during Trista’s season of “The Bachelorette.”
