Following her death, her colleagues shared emotional words to mourn the loss. Until broadcast news August 30 News 9 chief meteorologist Justin Lew shared photos of Pacholke from her early days at the station and noted how quickly she became part of the community.

“I know why I’m very sad about Nina’s death, and I know why you, the audience, are very sad too,” Lew said, “because she came here and she wanted to stay.”

He added, “And it’s something really special when someone comes here from the outside and thinks, ‘Central Wisconsin is so beautiful, I’m going to stay here and work here.’

Meanwhile, co-host Paholke Brendan McKee described her as an “incredible friend” in a Facebook post.

“You were Batman and I was Robin. When I joined WAOW, you made it clear that we would work hard and compete with the best,” he wrote. “Let’s remember Nina Pacholk as the beautiful person she was. The brightest light in the room. The brightest smile and the funniest laugh.”
