The fake mugshots of a NASA scientist, Peter Kalmus, have gone viral on Twitter.

American scientist and activist Peter Kalmus was detained in April of this year while participating in a climate change protest in Los Angeles.

On social media, there are rumors that he has been detained once more; we can assure you that these rumors are untrue. He is a data scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and an associate project scientist at UCLA’s Joint Institute for Regional Earth System Science & Engineering.

False: Peter Kalmus was not detained once more

Peter participated in a demonstration that called into question the effectiveness of government efforts to address the major problem of climate change. When his supporters and coworkers locked themselves in a JP Morgan Chase building in downtown Los Angeles, he was arrested.

It was a part of a worldwide campaign run by the Scientist Rebellion, a loosely connected network of concerned scientists with more than 1,200 members from 26 nations and the support of local climate organizations.

He frequently tweets on the catastrophic effects of climate change on people’s lives all across the world. Many environmentalists and regular citizens who believe that the attempts to reduce the effects of climate change are not being carried out as they should support him as well.

A NASA Scientist Tweets His Dissatisfaction

Peter Kalmus has inundated his Twitter account with posts that doubt the efforts being made to stop climate change. He tweets about five times per day, sharing tales of people struggling as a result of climate change.

He thinks fossil fuels are a big contributor to the rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide, which has an impact on the climate. He therefore believes that the Earth’s condition is significantly worse than most people believe. According to scientists, as long as fossil fuels are used to heat our planet, everything we value is in risk.

One of the most alarming aspects of this is how present and prospective climate crises juxtapose with what is happening all around us on a daily basis. The American scientist said at the rally that if everyone could see what he saw see coming, humanity would enter a state of climate emergency and cease using fossil fuels in a couple of years.

Peter Kalmus’s spouse and fortune In 2022

He has two children and is married to Sharon Kunde. In addition to being a climate warrior, Sharon stands by her husband throughout his entire life. The goal of Kalmus’ work as a science communicator is to change how society views fossil fuels. He currently has the most followers on Twitter (@ClimateHuman) of any climate expert.

He primarily focuses on getting academic Earth scientific communities and other groups to speak out more aggressively about the importance of combating climate change.

Coral reefs are being destroyed more and more by ocean acidification and heat waves. In physics and Earth science, he has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles, the majority of which are the outcome of his earlier work with the LIGO Collaboration.
