The Idol Introduces Ensemble Cast in Gritty New Teaser

HBO has released a second teaser The Weekndfuture series Idoljointly created Reza Fahim and Euphoria‘s Sam Levinson. The preview gives viewers a first look at the ensemble cast, which includes The Weeknd, Lily-Rose Depp, Troy Sivan, Moses Samni, Jane Addams, Dan Levy, Jenny Ruby Jane, Eli Roth, Rachel Sennott, Hari Nef, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Mike Dean, Ramsay and Hank Azaria.

Late actress Anne Hecheywho died on August 5, is also being filmed, although she did not appear in the teaser.

The sneak peek is a hard-hitting look at the upcoming series, which centers on a “self-help guru and modern-day cult leader.” [The Weeknd]who develops a complicated relationship with a promising pop idol [Depp]”, reports HBO.

The pop star is helped by the characters of Adams and Levy, who watch the rehearsal of an unusual dance. As the group thrusts and gyrates, Adams says, “This is sex. That’s what we’re selling.”
