The Kygo Festival takes place at the Hamptons Airport, subject to FAA approval
There was turbulence during a summer music festival at the Hamptons airport.
Page Six has learned that the FAA denied a permit for Kygo’s Palm Tree Music Festival at the airport. Francis S. Gabreski in Westhampton Beach.
But the festival hopes that the show will continue!
The festival, which will be held for the fourth time in the Hamptons, will take place on June 22, headlined by Swedish House Mafia, and will also feature performances by Kygo and DJ set Sofi Tukker.
The Suffolk County Press Office confirmed to Page Six that the permit has been revoked and that the music festival is currently in high demand.
The source said the issues related to some questions the FAA had about the festival.
The insider added: “Most of the questions asked by the FAA were about the runway closure schedule since this is an active airport.”
Moreover, “They thought it was a two-day celebration, but it only lasts one day,” the source said.
“They have already addressed these questions and reapplied… This is a permit they have been giving consent to for the last two years,” the source insisted.
A spokesperson for the festival said: “We are thrilled to return to the Hamptons for a fourth time!”
We previously reported that Hamptons athlete Jimmy Buffett made a surprise appearance at the 2022 festival.
Other attendees included Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, Sports Illustrated model Camille Kostek, “We Wore What” designer Danielle Bernstein, Melissa Wood Tepperberg and Sophia Culpo.
Calvin Harris also played at the festival, which it also has installments in Hawaii and Nevada.
