Police investigation into the fiery car accident that tragically claimed the life of Anne Heche is not moving forward.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement to Page Six on Saturday: “From today, there will be no further investigation into this matter. Any information or records requested prior to this turn of events will continue to be collected after receipt as part of formalities and incorporated into the overall case.

“When a person suspected of committing a crime expires, we do not appear to be examined.”

The initial investigation was escalated to an intoxicated crime after the woman stated she had been injured and needed medical attention due to Heche’s hitting her home. according to the TMZ report published on August 10

However, the LAPD public information officer announced on August 12 that the investigation had been classified as a “preliminary” crime pending further toxicological testing.

LAPD sources previously told TMZ that the results of the star’s blood tests “Six Days, Seven Nights” were positive for both cocaine and fentanyl. However, they explained the latter may have been due to medications she had received at the hospital to help manage the pain following the accident.

Shortly thereafter, a Heche representative told Page Six that the Dancing With the Stars graduate “is not expected to survive” because she “suffered severe anoxic brain damage.”

Her spokesman previously also gave further insight into her condition, sharing that she had a “significant” lung injury that required mechanical ventilation and burns that required surgical intervention.

Heche never regained consciousness and was presumed dead only a few days later.
