The Queen had a special charm, says a longtime royal photographer.
“She was iconic,” said only Page Six Chris Jackson, a photographer who has been taking pictures of the royal family for over 20 years.
“She had this amazing aura when she entered the room,” he explained. “As a person who spent a lot of time in her presence, I certainly felt the change in the room when she showed up. And that was clear. “
Jackson added that for most people meeting with the monarch was probably one of the most exciting days of their lives, but for her “it was just another day at the office.”
“There has never been a dull day when the opportunity arose for a queen. She just had this amazing presence and was so characteristic of the camera and it was fantastic face to face. “
One of Jackson’s favorite photos of the Queen is of her while working on her famous daily “red box” at Sandringham Castle.
“I get those red boxes every day of the year except Easter and Christmas,” he explained. “I really like this photo. She just looked so happy at the moment and worked until the very end … I think the commitment and duty that she has always been focused on the task, focused on the person she was talking to, is quite special. “
The Queen died “peacefully” at Balmoral Castle on Thursday.
Her eldest son, Charles – who immediately became King Charles III – called his mother an “inspiration and example” to himself and other family members in a pre-recorded speech on Friday.
