Tiffani Thiessen ‘heartbroken’ by her father’s death

Tiffani Thiessen mourns the loss of her father, Frank Thiessen, who died at the age of 85.
“My dad was a lover of many things. Animals, plants, chocolate, jazz, everything citrus, lottery tickets, cars, watches, stray dogs and cats and good Italian pasta. But most of all, he loved his family,” the “Saved by the Bell” alum wrote in a lengthy tribute. announcing the sad news via Instagram May 24.
“He was a quiet man, but he was never silent in showing us his love. He was kind, had a sweet sense of humor and was the most wonderful gentleman. Everyone who knew my dad LOVED him. He truly had a heart of gold.”
Tiffani’s post included a carousel of photos of her dad over the years, including photos of the father-daughter duo and the actress’ brother Todd.
The emotional photo dump also included sweet photos of Frank being a doting grandfather to Tiffani’s two children – Holt, 8, and Harper, 13 – whom she shares with husband Brady Smith.
The 50-year-old “Beverly Hills, 90210” alum admitted she was “devastated” by her father’s death.
“But I know you’re at peace now, and that comforts me. I promise I will watch over my mother [Robyn Ernest] and take care of her as you have for over 60 years,” she continued.
“Thank you for being such a devoted husband and showing me what a true gentleman is. Thank you for being a wonderful dad and grandpa and for being there for us.”
The actress ended her post by thanking her dad for “loving” her like he always does.
“No matter what, you supported me and were my biggest fan. I loved making you proud,” she gushed. “I love you, dad. We miss you so much.”
The sad news came shortly after Frank celebrated his last birthday on February 3.
“Happy 85th birthday Daddy! Another year around the sun and another candle added to your cake. (🍋of course)” Tiffany he wrote via Instagram then. “There are so many reasons to be proud and grateful, and you are one of them. Me ❤️ you daddy!”
Since then, many of Tiffani’s famous friends have flooded the comment sections of her posts with words of support and sympathy.
“God bless you and your family, Tiff. Losing a parent is extremely difficult. I can’t imagine your pain and grief right now… I love you baby, I’m sending nothing but love,” Mario Lopez wrote, while her former “90210” co-star Jason Priestley added: “I’m sorry for the loss of Tiff. Sending you love and light.”
