Tristan Thompson pays Maralee Nichols maintenance
Tristan Thompson pays Maralee Nichols alimony despite an ongoing family court trial, page Six may reveal.
Thompson’s attorney informed Page Six in a legal letter sent late Wednesday that a freelance NBA agent “pays and paid Ms Nichols alimony retroactively until the day she gave birth to the child.”
Nichols gave birth to her son, Theo, on December 1, 2021.
Earlier this year, a representative for Nichols stated in a statement that Thompson “did nothing” and did not provide zero “financial assistance”, but has since refunded the money owed.
While the basketball player may raise funds, a source tells us that he has yet to bond with his little son.
“Tristan still hasn’t tried to meet his 8-month-old son Theo,” says our informant.
Nichols’s representative did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Nichols filed a paternity suit against Thompson, 31, in June 2021 for child support, claiming that he impregnated her on the weekend of his 30th birthday in March – when he was still romantically linked to Khloé Kardashian. The athlete flatly denied being a father until a DNA test proved otherwise.
“Today, the results of paternity tests show that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols,” he wrote in a statement posted on social media in January. “I take full responsibility for my actions. Now that paternity has been established, I can’t wait to amicably raise our son. ”
Thompson also apologized to 38-year-old Kardashian, with whom he was secretly expecting a child through a surrogate, for cheating on her.
– Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I caused you, ”he wrote. “You don’t deserve the way I’ve treated you for years.”
Thompson shares his 4-year-old daughter True and a baby boy with the star of the “Kardashians”. He is also the father of Prince’s 5-year-old son with ex-Jordan Craig.
