Try the guys admit they knew about Ned Fulmer’s affair a few weeks ago
The Try Guys actually found out that their co-founder Ned Fulmer was cheating on his wife, Ariel Fulmer, on September 5 – four weeks before being announced he was fired.
The remaining members – Eugene Lee Yang, Keith Habersberger and Zach Kornfeld – first addressed their fans on Monday as they revealed that they are no longer associated with Ned, whom they released on September 16.
“Ned Fulmer doesn’t work with Try Guys anymore, Kornfeld he said in a YouTube video – which they called “what happened” – with Yang and Habersberger sitting next to him on the couch.
“So far we’re assuming you’ve seen Reddit and TikToks threads, tweets and news articles. We want to provide a timeline for what happened and some transparency in our decision-making process. “
Habersberger, who looked sullen, continued, “Over the Labor Day weekend, many fans notified us that they had seen Ned and an employee engaged in public romanticism.”
He then said that they contacted an employee to “check” her before 35-year-old Ned “would confirm the reports and have since confirmed that it had been going on for a while, which of course was very shocking to us.”
“We just want you to know that we had no idea it was happening,” he added. “All of this information was as shocking to us as it was to you this week.”
Yang, 36, added that they spent three weeks talking to various lawyers, human resources and public relations experts to “make sure” they were taking the necessary steps.
“We were aware of how much this was against the values of the company we had built and all those who work here,” he continued, taking a moment to calm down. “This is something we take very seriously and refuse to sweep under the rug, that’s who we were now and that’s not what we’re fighting for.”
Kornfeld, 32, later revealed that they “signed a written consent to remove Ned from his managerial and employee positions” on September 16, explaining his absence from the latest “Try Guys” movies and social media.
The team removed it from the gadget store and digitally deleted it from old movies as well as any marketing products. Kornfeld even said that their decision to completely scrap some of the films that Ned often featured in “cost” them a lot of money, but they stand by their decision “with pride.”
Admitting that they could not disclose the results of their investigation for legal reasons, Habersberger, 35, said that “Ned was involved in inappropriate behavior for our team and we knew we couldn’t move forward with him.”
He also explained that the reason it took them so long to publish these cases was because it “affected real people”, but they were eventually forced to do so when photos and videos of Ned and Alexandria Herring appeared.
“We’re incredibly shocked and deeply hurt by all of this,” Yang added, holding back tears. “He’s someone with whom we’ve been building the company and brand for eight years. We feel saddened – not only personally, but on behalf of our employees and fans who believed in us.
Tearfully, Kornfeld continued: “I don’t know if we can express the pain we are feeling right now. It’s hard to re-watch old movies that we love and are proud of, we are losing a friend, someone we’ve built a business with, with whom we have countless memories […] We’re sorry it ever happened and we don’t know what else to say.
“It will change here, but we hope there will be a chance for positive development and better movies in the future as part of it, but it will be difficult,” he added. “It’s all gonna be fucking hard.”
Meanwhile, Yang begged his fans to “show kindness”, referring to the fact that Herring was receiving a lot of criticism from fans, then noted that more information about the changes to the company would be revealed soon.
Last week, Try Guys suddenly got into turmoil when the internet learned that Ned had been cheating on his wife for 10 years with Herring, the show’s producer.
After announcing that he was released on September 27, Ned issued his own statement explaining the situation.
“Family should always be my priority, but I lost my focus and had a voluntary workplace relationship,” he wrote after seeing Herring kissing in a New York bar.
“I’m sorry for the pain my actions may have caused to the guys and fans, but most of all to Ariel,” he continued. “The only thing that matters now is my marriage and my children, and that’s what I’m going to focus on.”
Ariel, 36, with whom Ned shares sons, Wesley, 4, and Finley, 1, also spoke out in the midst of the scandal.
“Thank you to everyone who reached me – it means a lot. Nothing is more important to me and Ned than our family, and all we are asking for now is respecting our privacy for the sake of our children “- she wrote on your Instagram.
Despite their infidelity, Ariel and Ned can stick together as they were both seen wearing wedding rings when they were together on September 28th.
The same cannot be said for Herring, who was engaged to her boyfriend for ten years, Will Thayer. The two apparently closed the case after he removed all his photos from his social media.
