Background

Brown was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, to Jamaican parents. When he was young, his mother was exiled, so he and his father moved to Spanish Town, Jamaica, with his mother. His father was given two life sentences in prison, so he was incarcerated for most of Randy’s life. [8] Randy returned to the US when he was 16. He attended Jamaica High School. He started boxing in 2005 and switched to mixed martial arts when he was 19. He had six fights as an amateur before turning pro in 2014.

Starting a job

Brown began fighting professionally at Ring of Combat 48 in 2014. This was his first fight as a pro. Brown defeated Steve Tyrrell by submitting him in the first round. He trains at the Budokan Martial Arts Academy, which is linked to Renzo Gracie BJJ.

Brown fought Warlley Alves on November 16, 2019, at UFC Fight Night 164. In the second round, he used a triangle choke to win the fight. He earned the Performance of the Night award for this win.

Brown is set to fight Vicente Luque at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris on April 11, 2020. The event had to be moved due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
