Usher speaks out after the Lovers and Friends festival was canceled hours before the show
Usher said he was as “disappointed” as his fans after his headline-grabbing Lovers & Friends festival was canceled hours before the show was set to begin.
After festival organizers announced that the concert, which was scheduled to start Saturday in Las Vegas, had been canceled due to bad weather, the “U Got It Bad” singer went to X to share his frustration.
“Mannn… I’m as disappointed as you are.” – he wrote on Twitter Saturday. “We were getting ready to show up and celebrate today.”
However, Usher said that to protect everyone, he must “follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service.”
“Yes!” The crooner, 45, said he is “strong” in his belief that “everything happens for a reason.”

“I’m sorry we won’t be seeing each other today, but know that I’m always working on something to express my heartfelt gratitude to each of you who continue to support me,” he continued.
“See you soon.”
The festival organizers notified fans of the sudden cancellation less than 24 hours before the first performances began.
“The organizers of the Lovers & Friends Festival have been monitoring the weather for several days and are actively preparing for a windy Saturday,” they say shared on their website late Friday evening.
“However, the National Weather Service has now issued a high wind warning, including dangerous sustained winds of 30-35 mph with gusts potentially exceeding 60 mph.”
Festival organizers said the last-minute decision to cancel was “extremely painful” for all the fans who traveled from around the world.
“We have worked hard to create an amazing event for you and we are as disappointed as you,” they concluded.
Fans who purchased tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets will receive a refund within 30 days.
In addition to Usher, several other headliners performed on Saturday, including Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Brandy, Ne-Yo, Ja Rule, Ashanti, the Backstreet Boys and many more.
