Valerie Bertinelli responds to Matthew Perry’s makeup confession
Valerie Bertinelli is “embarrassed” after Matthew Perry revealed their appearance in his “Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing” diary.
Actress, 62 years old, posted a TikTok video Wednesday was set to Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero”, waving at the camera and smiling as he played the “Hello, it’s me” text.
“Anyone else misbehaving in their 20s and 30s?” wrote social media subtitles. “Are you humiliated?”
Perry’s book, which came out on November 1, describes his infatuation with Bertinelli during the filming of Sydney in 1990 when she was married to Eddie Van Halen.
The Friends star writes that the marriage of the “Hot in Cleveland” graduate was “clearly … restless.”
Perry recalls that instead he had “fancy fantasies about how she left Eddie Van Halen and lived with him the rest of her days.”
When the rocker once “relished the fruit of the vines a little too much” and “passed out less than 10 feet” from Perry and Bertinella, the duo had a “long, complicated persuasion session,” according to the book.
The 17 Again star recalls, “I told her I had been thinking about it for a long time, and she told me.”
However, later Bertinelli “did not mention what happened,” which, as Perry writes, left him “devastated.”
Bertinelli and Van Halen’s relationship ended in 2001, 10 years after welcoming their son Wolfgang, who is now 31.
The host of the Kids Baking Championship married financial planner Tom Vitale in 2011 but divorced in May.
In October 2020, Van Halen died at the age of 65. The guitarist struggled with throat cancer.
Perry’s memories range from his A-list relationship, from his decision to break up with Julia Roberts to his date with Cameron Diaz.
The star of “Fools Rush In”, who has been sober for 18 months, also dives deeply into his struggle with addiction in the book.
