Vanderpump Rules stars Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz close their divorce
Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz officially divorced less than a year after their breakup.
According to court files obtained by Page Six, the stars of the Vanderpump Rules closed their divorce on October 12.
Maloney, 35, and Schwartz, 39, settled an uncontested case last month, and recently came to an agreement to split their joint assets – including their $ 2 million home in California.
Documents also revealed that the couple had decided to relinquish their spouse “forever”.
As previously reported, Maloney filed for divorce from Schwartz in March after nearly six years of marriage in March.
The pair publicly announced their split a week before Maloney was reported.
“After 12 years of adventure together through life, Tom and I end our marriage” Maloney wrote on Instagram then. “This ending is met with no resentment or hostility, with no sides to choose from. We have a deep admiration for each other that will always remain and we cherish our friendship. Although we may be on different paths, we will continue to love and support our happiness. ”
Schwartz also shared the sad news with his own social media accounts, focusing on the good memories the couple have shared over the years.
– I don’t blame you for rash judgment. If I had been following us at VPR for the last 9 years, I would have been doing them too ”, him wrote on social media. “Perception gets distorted before seeing the fragments [sic] of our life on the show, but I’m telling you we’ve had some of the most blissful, romantic, fun moments humanly possible in our relationship. I am talking about the joy of heaven on earth. “
The restaurant owner added that he “was not a victim” and “fully” respected his ex-wife’s decision to end the marriage.
However, while the couple’s breakup was amicable, they have gone through several ups and downs since the split.
Many of their star-studded “pump” rules have allegedly had to “pick” sides since they broke up – often opting for owner Schwartz and Sandy over Maloney.
“I’d rather be around one of them than the other,” said Brock Davies of his and his wife Scheana Shay’s decision to remain friends with Schwartz.
To make matters worse, Schwartz and co-star Raquel Leviss reportedly kissed at Shay and Davies’ wedding – after Maloney was “uninvited.”
This decision clearly did not suit Maloney, who is said to be “very annoyed” that her ex-husband “decided to reunite with a girl in their circle of friends.”
The couple started dating in 2010 and got married in 2016 – only to realize they weren’t legally married.
They became the official union in 2019 thanks to a fast trip to Las Vegas.
