This is what the statement said:
“Today, two men — one of them the man who started the Hawaii chapter of the Proud Boys — pleaded guilty to a felony charge for their acts of trespassing at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. One of these men is the founder of the Hawaii branch of the Proud Boys. Because of their actions and the actions of others, a joint session of Congress called to determine and count the electoral votes pertaining to the presidential election was disrupted.
Before attempting to attack the Capitol, the Proud Boy Leader and his entourage went to hear Trump speak at a rally
On January 5, 2021, Nicholas Ochs, age 36, the founder of the Hawaii chapter of the Proud Boys, a right-wing group largely viewed as a hate organization, arrived in Washington from Honolulu. The Proud Boys are a far-right faction widely regarded as a hate group. Reports indicate that she stayed with Nicholas DeCarlo, a 32-year-old associate based in Texas who often live-streamed their films on the social media channel Murder the Media. DeCarlo is known for his controversial videos.
The following day, according to reports from the Los Angeles Times, the two individuals conducted interviews with pro-Trump fanatics at a Trump rally and then followed them to the United States Capitol.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, which took place a few days after the incident that took place at the United States Capitol, DeCarlo said that he was stopped by police before entering the Capitol, but was allowed to continue after he claimed to be a reporter.
In a phone conversation with a representative from the website, he made the following statement:
“Someone asked us when we were leaving, and we replied that we would when we were done reporting on it – when we got our scoop,” the reporter added.
On January 6, a video showed two individuals throwing smoke bombs at a police line as police tried to prevent people from entering the inaugural stage area.
On Twitter, a user who goes by the name twit-creek recently republished the video that was first shared by another user.
After throwing dangerous objects at the police, Decarlo and Ochs entered the building illegally through the Senate Wing Doors and filmed themselves smoking cigarettes inside. After that, the latter posed for a picture while writing the name of their social media channel on a piece of paper.
The two individuals also went through a policeman’s duffel bag and removed a pair of plastic handcuffs from it.
