When a new episode of House of the Dragon comes out every week, it gives people something to talk about on the internet. This time it’s a White Hart that the real Thronies wonder about.
The show is on track to become more popular than Game of Thrones was in its first season. Fire & Blood is now on TV, thanks to the prequel. It gives people a taste of fantasy and suspense.
It still betrays any surprise in the story by having different characters say the same thing over and over, which should be to our advantage. But you can’t argue that the plot gets more complicated, the pace picks up and a third dragon joins the team with a fiery and effective introduction.
What does the White Heart mean in House of the Dragon?
In the third episode, the rulers of Westeros show how good they are at making trouble for themselves. King Viserys, in particular, is stubborn and full of himself in a way that is both annoying and important to the story as a whole.
He and the rest of his household go hunting in Kingswood and find a White Hart. Everyone is wondering what this is and if “Game of Thrones” ever mentioned it.
Fans of “Thrones” and Martin’s writing know that animals are more than just extras; they have a deep meaning in the story. Otto jumps to say that the find by the hunters of a “white deer,” a white deer or stag replacing the king, is proof that Aegon is destined to become king.
Viserys’ hunting party captures an adult deer that can kill the king. The monarch kills the animal with a spear that Jason Lannister gave him, but it must not be white. In the second half of the episode, Rhenyra Targaryen and Ser Criston Cole find the real White Heart. Ser Criston tries to draw his sword, but the princess stops him. The deer quickly turns and runs away.
The vision of the white deer seems to show that Rhaenyra is the only person who deserves to be queen and will be more capable than the others, even though it seems unlikely that she will ever become the first queen of Westeros. If you compare it to the fact that Viserys and Aegon only caught one brown deer during their hunt, it becomes more obvious.
That’s all there is to know about why the white deer stood in front of Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon.
What do deer mean in mythology and what do they mean in Game of Thrones?
In real life, a “White Hart” is simply a male deer. It has been referred to as a sign of royalty and bravery in several books over the years.
“A Game of Thrones”, the first book in “A Song of Ice and Fire”, talks about the White Heart of Kingswood a few times. It is a war galley that is part of the royal fleet and works for the Iron Throne. People think older deer are magical and hard to find.
In the third chapter about Sansa, the main character seems to have a dream in which Joffrey kills the male deer standing in front of him.
Then, in the eleventh chapter of Eddard, Petyr Baelish tells Ned that the king’s group found a white deer, but the wolves had already killed and eaten it. So King Robert I Baratheon goes after and kills a wild boar by chasing it.
Rhaenyra also encounters a boar in ‘House of the Dragon’, but with Ser Criston’s help, she kills it and escapes.
