Eric Knowles is a British TV presenter and an expert in antiques. His favorite things to collect are ceramics and glass.
In the early 1970s he started his career in Northern England. When he joined Antiques Roadshow, he first caught the attention of the BBC.
When he joined the London auction house Bonhams in 1979, the host started the “Art Nouveau” and “Art Deco” departments.
On the other hand, he is the chairman of The Hoard Ltd., a company that also organizes antique tours. We also know the following about his wife, his teeth and his health.
Where did Eric Knowles’ teeth go?
Eric Knowles’ teeth are healthy and problem free. But if you look closely at his photos, you might notice that his teeth are a bit yellow and have gaps in between.
In addition, he first became known as a ceramics expert on the BBC show Antiques Roadshow. He has also appeared in shows such as 20th Century Roadshow, Noel’s House Party, Call My Bluff, Going for a Song and Going, Going, Gone.
During the summer of 2010, he hosted 20 episodes of the BBC show Restoration Roadshow (ending 3rd September).
On BBC Two’s Antiques Master, he helps host Sandi Toksvig by setting the challenges and making decisions.
Update on his illness and health problem related to leukemia
Eric Knowles looks at how the NHS has changed over time by reflecting on a painful event from his childhood. Eric was nine years old when he was told he had leukemia. He was in hospital for six weeks.
Even though he was alone, there were some good things about it, and the toys he got made him want to collect for the rest of his life.
They recreate this situation by sending a 1960s ambulance and a retired ambulance driver on the same route Eric would have taken to get to the hospital.
After several weeks of testing, leukemia was finally ruled out and found to be the cause.
Although he was quite ill, he prevented his family from contracting a deadly disease. dr. Margaret Rokicka, an oncologist, helped Eric figure out how such a mistake could have happened.
In other news, here’s an update on Countryfile host Matt Goodman’s illness and health. He is married to Ellie Harrison.
In 2015, the Antiques Roadshow host and his wife, Anita Knowles, both lost a son
We don’t know the exact date of Eric and Anita’s wedding, but in an interview with Express, Bargain Host said the two had been together for 13 years.
At the time of the interview in 2013, they had been happily together for over 21 years.
Eric spoke about his personal life saying, “My wife Anita and I have lived here for 13 years and my personal space has always been reading.”
Before their eldest son Sebastian was killed in a car accident in March 2015, the power couple lived in Buckinghamshire with their two sons, Oliver and Sebastian. Now there are three.
In more detail about the relationship, Anita also takes care of Eric’s money. She is one of the people who manages the money left over from Eric’s salary after the mortgage and college costs have been paid.
