In the most recent episode of Running Wild with Bear Grylls, English actress Florence Pugh revealed she suffers from tracheomalacia, a rare respiratory disorder.

The 26-year-old star revealed on the August 15 episode of the show that her doctor advised the family to move from wet England to warm Spain.

“We were in Spain because I have a breathing problem, and when I was younger they just said a warmer environment would be better,” the speaker said. In addition to tracheomalacia, I also have asthma. So I’ve just had a different respiratory system since I was a little kid.

Tracheomalacia, according to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, indicates:

“Instead of being stiff, the walls of the trachea are flaccid or flaccid because the cartilage of the trachea, or windpipe, has not grown properly or has been injured. Breathing is challenging because the cartilage cannot keep the trachea open, especially during exhalation (exhalation). The trachea can sometimes collapse due to tension of adjacent blood vessels.”
However, the Black Widow actress said her health had improved over time.

“Now that I’m an adult, it doesn’t affect me as much as it did when I was younger, unless I get sick.”
Florence Pugh and Bear Grylls embarked on a 48-hour journey through Costa Rica’s volcanic rainforests, starting with a jump from a helicopter.

Tracheomalacia has already been discussed by Florence Pugh

Florence Pugh spoke with Sue Perkins in July 2020 for her podcast, Sue Perkins: An Hour or So With…, sharing insights about how the coronavirus pandemic was affecting her and how tracheomalacia was affecting her. She noted:

My mother has always had to be on the lookout for new illnesses and illnesses that could potentially cause me serious harm, as I have had a breathing problem since childhood.
She went on to say that her mother had asked to go to Los Angeles so she wouldn’t expose herself to the novel coronavirus.

Pugh told the journalist that her health has improved over the years compared to when she was younger, as she doesn’t get sick as often.

Though she overcame the illness that led to her initial diagnosis, the Little Women actress admitted in a 2020 interview with Vogue that she now had a “really terrifying cough.”

In 2014, Florence Pugh made her film debut as co-star of Maisie Williams, Maxine Peake, Greta Scacchi, Hannah Rose Caton, Anna Burnett and Lauren McCrostie in Carol Morley’s The Falling.

She later appeared as a lead actor in a number of television shows and movies including Studio City, Marcella, The Commuter, Malevolent, The Little Drummer Girl, Midsommar, Acting for a Cause, Black Widow, Hawkeye, etc.

She will next be seen in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Don’t Worry Darling, A Good Person, The Wonder, Oppenheimer, Dune: Part Two and The Maid, according to her IMDb biography.
