On the morning of March 13, 2006, the Zammittis and their part-time driver and handyman, Chester Roberts, were scheduled to report to their office located at 17 New Salem Street in Wakefield at 8 o’clock. Who is Responsible for the Murders of Michael Zammitti Jr. and Chester Roberts?

After learning that the Zammittis had been sent a threatening note earlier, investigators initially suspected that one of the family’s rivals was behind the assassination attempt. They came up with a theory that Michael Sr. might be. the intended victim, but because he was running late, his son Michael Jr. have to face the consequences. Unfortunately, none of the leads turned out to be accurate, leaving the police with no choice but to focus their efforts on Mike’s loved ones and acquaintances. Patricia’s insight led investigators to a new person of interest, which ultimately led to the successful solving of the case.

One of the investigators said, “Michael Zammitti Jr.’s mother indicated to us. that there was a man in Freedom, New Hampshire named Sean Fitzpatrick and on one occasion, he saw his daughter-in-law hugging Sean which he considered, in his opinion, inappropriate for a married mother to have visited. Sean was ready for the police to question him because he had prepared two alibi statements before they arrived. He said that his lifelong neighbor, Gert Ducharme, saw him at around 9 in the morning on March 13, 2006, making it impossible for him to have committed the double homicide charged against him. He also asserted, as his second justification, that he was awakened in the morning by a phone call, which served as an alibi for him. When authorities reviewed his cell phone records and spoke with his neighbor, however, they discovered evidence that contradicted his allegations. Gert told officers she saw Sean between 10 and 10:30 a.m., despite the fact that Sean’s cell phone records show he didn’t turn on his phone until 9:45 a.m. .

The inconsistencies served to strengthen his position as a suspect in the investigation. On March 29, 2006, police went to Freedom to investigate a series of suspicious thefts, one of which was the theft of a 16-gauge shotgun from Michael Srhouse. .’s Police discovered a green Ford F150 pickup truck with an extended cab while they were checking Sean’s neighbor’s residence. Investigators found a vehicle that looked similar to the one they were looking for while reviewing surveillance video from the scene of the incident.

Fred Martin, a former Marine who spent his entire life in Florida, owned the truck and was there the entire time. On the morning of the murder, he checked his E-ZPass account and discovered a transaction. In addition, authorities discovered a recording on Fred’s transponder indicating the same thing, and detectives verified that the killer used this vehicle. Sean, who became the prime suspect in the double homicide, refused to provide any further assistance to the police when questioned. On the other hand, the police detained him for driving with an expired driver’s license and his fingerprints were obtained during the course of the investigation.

The Zammit family received a threatening letter, and they determined that the fingerprints on that letter matched the fingerprints they found on the letter. They also collected DNA from a condolence card that Sean had sent to Michele and found that it matched the DNA found in Fred’s truck, despite the fact that Fred did not allow Sean to enter his truck. On June 6, 2006, Sean, age 44, was taken into custody and charged with two counts of murder in connection with the incident.
