When Kym Brown-Hunter first met Jerold Dunning, he was friends with her then-husband, who is also her current husband. During this time, she and Jaime lived on a yacht with her husband. However, after a few years of marriage, they decided to divorce and Jerold was there for Kym during this difficult time. After dating for about five months, Kym and Jaime decided to move in with him. She claimed that Jerold was just in the room with her when he started tickling her and then grabbed her underwear before pressing her down on the mattress. When Jaime entered the room, the friend managed to break free and escape. When Kym found out about the allegations, she grabbed her daughter and moved in with her brother. At the time, Jerold was away on a trip, so Kym was left alone with her daughter.
After authorities were called in, Kim was instructed to call Jerold to coerce Jerold into confessing to the crimes he was accused of. During that phone call, he offered her money and claimed responsibility for some of the crimes. Kym agreed to the meeting, but it turned out that the authorities were the ones waiting for him. Jerold was taken into custody but later freed after posting bail. However, when the time for his trial came in January 1999, he was nowhere to be found and did not show up.

Where is Jerold Dunning today?
Kym got the idea that Jerold could be in the same place as his mother, Camden. She then went to Maryville, Tennessee after paying his bail. It was at this location that Kym discovered that someone named CJ Dunning had rented an apartment. Neighbors who knew Jerold reported that they had heard him refer to himself as Chester, which is his middle name. Jerold reportedly worked as a driver for a seafood delivery service. The FBI then got involved and charged him with fleeing without permission in 2004 to avoid prosecution.
According to the episode, however, authorities suspected that Jerold had been tipped off by someone because he had already left Maryville when federal agents arrived. Since then, law enforcement agencies have not given up their search for him, although he continues to evade arrest. According to the episode, Jerold, who is about 63 at the time, may be hiding in the Caribbean islands and working on boats. Officials are also looking for possible locations for him in Mexico and Brazil. Kevin, Jerold’s brother, stated in 2012 that it was possible Jerold was in the US Virgin Islands.
