20/20: The Barefoot Witness, which airs on ABC News, focuses on the chain of events leading up to Lyntell Washington’s death in June 2016. The skeletal remains of the 40-year-old middle school teacher, aged and reported missing, were found days after her disappearance was reported. But the investigation only got underway when a Good Samaritan named Leslie Parms saw Lyntell’s child, then three years old, alone in a parking lot and dialed 911. Who is Leslie Parms?
When Leslie Parms pulled into a parking lot on June 9, 2016, he saw a little girl walking around unsupervised for the first time. Approaching the little girl, who was three, he recounted what transpired afterwards: “I said, ‘Excuse me young lady, where are your parents?’ She just wandered around in the fog, looking at everything, and when she went to the car, I called the police. Leslie called 911 to report that her then-3-year-old daughter was unattended and holding a pillow.
During the broadcast, Leslie explained that when he asked the young girl where her mother or her car was, she pointed to a vehicle parked in the same lot as her. Inside, Leslie was unsuccessful in her search for the mother, but found blood. He told them, “Just look at the pool of blood, I knew someone, something really terrible happened to someone and it wasn’t going to be good at all.” He pointed to the pool of blood. The girl, who sustained no injuries, was reunited with her family and authorities immediately began searching for Lyntell, the girl’s mother.
Lyntell’s body was discovered in a ditch on June 14, 2016, and an autopsy revealed that she died of complications from a gunshot-induced head wound. During this time, testimonies from Lyntell’s daughter led authorities to Lyntell’s colleague, Robert Marks. She was pregnant with his child when she was killed and she had been having an affair with him before her death. In the end, Robert was found guilty of the murder of Lyntell and the unborn child, resulting in a life sentence for him.

Who is Leslie Parms?
In the 1990s, Leslie Parms received her education from Louisiana State University. After some time, he attended Southern University and A&M College, both in Louisiana, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater. On the show, he revealed that he has always had a strong interest in helping other people and that he previously served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Yuma Air Station in Arizona. Leslie, who currently resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been the sole owner of TriStar Global LLC since May 2005. His posts on various social media platforms give the impression that he is a member of the Nation of Islam (Nation of Islam).
