American television celebrity, Bounty Hunter, and former bailiff Duane Lee Chapman, better recognised as Dog the Bounty Hunter, has been involved in the Gabby Pettito-Bryan laundry case for some time now. But after the discovery of Laundry’s human remains, he believes Petito’s 23-year-old fiancé would have been alive if his parents had cooperated with the police. Partial human remains belonging to Brian Laundrie were found on Wednesday, October 20 at Carlton Reserve and adjacent Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Sarasota County.

Steven Bertolino, an attorney representing Laundrie and his parents. He said a parent learning that their child has died is “grieved under any circumstances”. The lawyer also said he had “no reason to believe” that Laundrie’s parents would be charged with the crimes.
Bertolino declined to discuss any deal between himself and the FBI. He clarified the allegations were discussed but “there was no threat, no oppression, and no deal was made”. Bertolino also said that he told Laundrie’s parents not to talk to anyone.
According to Bertolino, Laundrie’s father said that his son was very upset before leaving the house. Along with it, he wanted him to “not let him go, but he couldn’t stop him”. He also said that Laundrie did not know that his son would disappear after leaving the house in September.

“If Laundry’s parents [Christopher and Roberta] had cooperated from the beginning, Brian Laundrie would still be alive,” Chapman said in an interview hours after Landrie’s human remains were identified.
“The positive ID of Brian Laundrie’s remains closes the matter somewhat, if not to Gabby’s family, who now probably will never know what really happened,” he said. He continued, ‘We are praying for Gabby’s family. As a parent who has also lost a child, I know there is no end to the story that brings Gabby back. But now the family can begin the process of grieving. Our thoughts are with him.”

Earlier, Bertolino had said that an autopsy on the Laundrie’s remains did not expose the cause of his death. “I can confirm that the remains were being sent to an anthropologist for further evaluation,” attorney Steve Bertolino said. He said they were expecting further answers from law enforcement regarding Laundrie’s cause of death.
Bertolino said on the night of Thursday, 22nd October that he did not know how Laundrie died. “I don’t want to speculate”, he said. Along with it, he further said that “I try not to do that. I hope people stop doing it too, especially with regards to this matter. And with regards to the cause or how Brian died, I don’t know. If possible we will ask the experts will wait for some kind of death”.
