Pine was born on August 26, 1980 in the city of Los Angeles in the state of California. His mother, Gwynne Gilford, is a former actress who is now a psychologist. His father, Robert Pine, is an actor who starred on CHiPs as Sergeant Joseph Getraer. His paternal grandfather was also an actor.
