On Wednesday, August 3, the Indiana congresswoman Jackie Walorski perished in a motor vehicle collision. There were no survivors, and it is still unknown how severely injured they were. Around 12.32 pm, the incident happened on SR 19 south of SR 119. Only two weeks separated Walorski’s 58th birthday from her 59th.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, Walorski, 58, of Elkhart, Indiana, Zachery Potts, 27, of Mishawaka, Indiana, and Emma Thomson, 28, of Washington, DC, were the victims of the two-vehicle collision. Before moving up to become the district director for the House of Representatives in Indiana, Potts served as Walorski’s campaign manager while Thomson served as the campaign manager. The authorities also reported the death of Edith Schmucker, the driver of the car that struck Walorski’s car. According to the police, the automobile operated by Schmucker veered to the left and struck fatally head-on with a southbound sports utility vehicle in Indiana, killing a total of four persons. But there was no explanation as to why her car had taken a wrong turn.
