On May 9, 2011, it was announced that Guthrie would join Natalie Morales and Al Roker as co-hosts of the 9:00 am and legal editor of the show after filling in Meredith Vieira and Ann Curry on Today. Curry and Morales were subsequently promoted to primary co-host and news anchor respectively, after Vieira announced her retirement from the show as the main program co-host. Guthrie left The Daily Rundown for Today on June 9, 2011, and was subsequently named chief legal analyst for NBC News. She made her debut in this role on May 25, 2011. While vacationing in the Turks and Caicos Islands in late 2009, she began dating Democratic political and communications adviser Michael Feldman. 2013 saw their engagement. On March 15, 2014, they married in Tucson, Arizona. Guthrie revealed two days later that she was four months pregnant.
