Love Is Blind star Danielle Ruhl has given more details on why she and Nick Thompson are getting divorced.
Ruhl explained on social media that there was no infidelity on the part of either side, but she and Thompson suffered from “personality compatibility differences.”
“I know a lot of people are wondering why we ended our relationship,” she said on her Instagram on Sunday. “There really was a difference in personality compatibility.”
Ruhl, 28, said the underlying problem made it “even more difficult” as nothing concrete happened to break the relationship up.
“I live in this state of denial where it is, but we love each other, but – I don’t know if anyone else relates to it – but, for example, you can still love each other and try your best to keep going,” she said.
Ruhl admitted that she and Thompson, 37, began the separation amicably, but has since acidified with the added stress of the “divorce process.” In addition, Ruhl said she fell victim to social media harassment and became upset when her husband, now broken up with her, failed to stand up for her.
“This is what really upset me because he didn’t really answer when I said,” Hey, this is happening, “she explained. – Again, it’s not him. I shouldn’t care. This is not [an] I hate Nick. I care about him again. I’m just trying to explain why things went wrong.
“Because again, when we decided to break up, it was a joint decision. It was something we talked about. It wasn’t just a spontaneous thing, although it seems to be. For example, we really tried hard. “
It seems Thompson’s fans didn’t take Ruhl’s news very kindly as she later released a statement explaining that she didn’t want to blame him.
“I tried to convey that I shouldn’t react or make assumptions,” she wrote in her Instagram report on Monday. “I am clearly communicating wrongly because I don’t want anyone to hate or think the other party is responsible.
“If you see or read them and are interpreted that he should be guilty for anything, it’s wrong, so please don’t hate,” she continued. “I did [sic] an unintentional error that has done more harm than good ”.
Ruhl, who filed for divorce on August 15, and Thompson were the last couple from season two of the Netflix dating series. The duo followed in the footsteps of Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones, who announced just days earlier that they would continue their divorce proceedings.
