Why Kathie Lee Gifford doesn’t want to talk about the “special” man in her life

Kathie Lee Gifford keeps his private life just that — private.

Former Today Recently, the presenter announced that she is in a relationship, but does not plan to share details about her new husband. “I have someone very special in my life,” said Kathie Lee PEOPLE August 29. “I found that if you don’t talk about it, it stays special.”

The new romance of the former presenter of “Living with Regis” and Kathie Lee took place seven years after the death of her husband Frank Gifford. She and the former NFL star, who were married for nearly 30 years, had two children, a son Cody32 and a daughter Cassidy29.

Last May, Koda and his wife, Erica, welcomed a son of their own, making Kathie Lee a first-time grandmother (or “Bubbe,” as she prefers to be called). Baby’s name? Frank, in honor of his late grandfather.

“Every moment is a gift,” Kathie Lee said recently Today is Father’s Day. “I knew I would love Frank instantly because I love children. But this is my son’s child — my husband’s son’s son — it’s such a beautiful tapestry of life and creativity.”
