Wynonna Judd is “angry” at Naomi Judd’s death by suicide
Wynonna Judd admits she is “incredibly angry” at her late mother, Naomi Judd, for taking her own life.
In her first interview since Naomi was killed by suicide at the age of 76 in April, Wynonna said CBS on Sunday morning that she still mourns the loss of her mother, a country music star.
“I got the call, walked over, saw her and said goodbye to her at the hospital,” Wynonna recalls 58-year-old correspondent Lee Cowan before admitting that she was “bad” with her mother’s decision.
“I closed her eyes, kissed her forehead, and that was that. And then I know I’m sitting here on the side porch just trying to figure out what to do next.
Wynonna continued, “I didn’t know she was where she was when she finished because she had episodes and recovered. And this is what I live in is like, “Was there anything I should have been looking for or should have known?” I did not do that.”
When asked specifically if the anger would ever go away, Wynonna replied to Cwan, “No, I don’t think so, not for a while.”
Wynonna noticed that she still felt her mother’s presence, months after she was found unanswered on April 30.
“I feel him poking me. And sometimes I laugh. And sometimes I say, “I really miss you. Why aren’t you here so we can argue? ”” Wynonna said.
“She once told me that she took my hand and said, “My life is better because of you.” These are memories that appear more and more often. I think when you lose your mother a lot of that shit goes away because it doesn’t matter anymore. Just do not.
Wynonna will soon be embarking on a tour that would revive The Judds. The musical mother-daughter duo sold over 20 million albums, had 14 singles that hit number one and won five Grammy Awards.
“When I go on stage that first night, I’m probably going to say something like,” It shouldn’t be like this, “because it’s not like that, right? We should be the two of us. And I’ll be angry because she’s not there, said Wynonna.
The country legend has also revealed that she and her sister Ashley Judd set aside their differences after losing their mother.
“We both look at each other like,” Got you, “right? We look at ourselves and say, “Yes.” We are so united now, I think more than we have been in a long time.
Naomi’s autopsy report from the Nashville Medical Examiner’s office stated that she “had apparently had a self-mutilated gunshot wound” and that she was “pronounced dead shortly after her arrival” at a local hospital.
A toxicology report revealed that the musician had several different medications in his body at the time of his death, including drugs to treat insomnia, treat Parkinson’s disease, depression, and seizures.
