Zoe Kravitz reflects on the “ups and downs” of using social media

“Social media is a big experiment we’re all a part of, and pretending we understand it is a joke,” she said Ale. “I’ve had my ups and downs. I’m sure it’s helped my career in some ways, but I also think it’s hurt it.”

Kravitz noted that, as an actor in particular, social media can suffer some disadvantages, saying that “it’s difficult because I think we give out too much information. [about ourselves] and it’s hard for us to disappear into roles.”

She continued: “The actors I grew up loving and watching, I didn’t know anything about them. That’s part of what made them so interesting.”

The Big Little Lie The actress previously opened up about her relationship with social media as she apologized and expressed her thoughts on the Oscar incident. (After the event, she shared a photo of herself at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, writing, “And here’s a pic of my dress at the after-party where we’re probably yelling profanities and attacking people on stage right now.”)

“I have very mixed feelings about this,” she said WSJ Magazine in August. “I wish I had handled it differently. And that’s normal.”
